The Frederick County-North, MD chapter of the MOMS Club® was started in January 2002 by a stay-at-home Frederick mom who was looking for a means to meet other nearby moms with similar interests and concerns.  Today, the MOMS Club® of Frederick County-North has approximately 52 members with 80 children.  Our business meeting is usually on the 4th Thursday morning every month.  Our area is the 21702 zip code, including Lewistown ES (west of Route 15), Monocacy ES, North Frederick ES (only Gambrill Park Rd addresses), Whittier ES, and Yellow Springs ES. Our calendar has activities for moms and their little ones nearly every day and includes: Bikes-n-Trikes, Calendar Crew, Coffee Talk, First Time MOMs, Holiday Parties, Little Linguists, Lunch Bunch, MOMS Night Out, Playgroups, Sportsplex, Scrapbooking, Storytime, Toddler Art, Thomas the Train Playgroup, and Tot Explorers, among others. In addition to the calendar activities, we have various service projects such as the annual Preschool Fair, meal delivery to our moms in need, and holiday parties at a local nursing home.

The MOMS Club® was started in the fall of 1983. The first local chapter was in Simi Valley, California. Word spread quickly about the wonderful support that the MOMS Club® offers at-home mothers and we became a national organization in 1985. Now, the International MOMS Club® has over 2,100 chapters in the US alone and over 110,000 members.
